How to perform

Lie flat with dumbbells held above your chest, palms facing each other. Keep a soft, fixed bend in your elbows throughout the movement. Open your arms out to the sides in a wide arc until you feel a stretch across the chest. Bring them back together along the same arc, thinking about squeezing your chest rather than pushing with your arms. Use a weight you can control. This is a stretch exercise, not a pressing exercise. Common mistakes: bending and straightening the elbows, which turns it into a press, and going far too heavy.
