How to perform

Support yourself on parallel bars with your arms straight and your shoulders down. Lower under control until your upper arms are roughly parallel to the floor. Keep your torso fairly upright to bias the triceps, or lean forward to bias the chest. Press back up to full extension. Common mistakes: dropping too deep and stressing the shoulders, and letting the shoulders shrug up towards the ears at the bottom.
